Description

Antibiotic resistance is a challenge that needs to be resolved in poultry industry, needs effective antimicrobial alternatives to eradicate disease outbreaks and antibiotic-resistant microorganisms.

Bacteria lytic phage’s are used in phage therapy to destroy respective bacterial hosts, to destroy antibiotic resistance in bacteria in livestock.

Mechanism of Action

Bacteriophages are viruses that infect bacteria and use their resources to multiply. Bacteriophages are abundant in all environments and have a high level of specificity for the bacteria species, serotype, or strain at the initial infection.

Bacteriophages as a feed additive provide an integrated solution for modifying the gut microbiome by reducing pathogenic microbial populations and promoting the growth of beneficial bacteria, resulting in better gut health.

In normal physiologic conditions, BP cocktail targeting Salmonella gallinarum, S. typhimurium, S. Enteritidis, E. coli & Clostridium perfringes found suitable as a feed additive to improve birds’ performance and productivity without bacterial challenge. Bacteria develop phage resistance ten times slower than bacteria develop antibiotic resistance.

Recommended Usage:

• Chicks :

  1 ml per 20 chicks per day for weekdays (Day 1 – 7).

• Breeders / Growers / Broilers/Layers:

• Preventive :

  2ml/ 30 birds in Water, once daily.

• Treatment :

  3-5 ml/ 30 birds in Water, for 7 days. (Twice daily if severity of the infection is high)

10 ml /1.5 L of water daily once. Spray to reduce bacterial shedding.
